When it comes to dishing personal details, is your policy show-and-tell or MYOB?

You got 13 out of 30!

DISCERNING DIVULGER.You're like a great-fitting corset—suggestive but concealing in all the right places. "You know when to articulate and when to hold back," says Ronald Curry, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist in Connecticut. "You have great instincts in social situations, like knowing what's appropriate to disclose on a first date versus what feels right on the tenth date." You always ask yourself, "How much is really relevant for me to reveal here?"

You also read body lingo well to see if people are open to hearing personal details, says Jo-Ellan Dimitrius, Ph.D., author of Reading People: How to Understand People and Predict Their Behavior—Anytime, Anyplace. If they look antsy, you'll don a Mona Lisa smile and zip it. Sure, you have enough confidence to talk frankly about yourself, but you're also aware that keeping mum (e.g. being vague with a new guy or declining to list all of your faults on a job interview) can boost success. "It's good practice in business and relationships to let others ask questions rather than volunteer info," says Dimitrius.
